Khmer Youth Association (KYA) is a humanitarian, non-political, non-governmental and non-partisan Cambodian youth organization founded in 1992.  KYA is committed to working with and for youth for positive social change by improving and promoting youth participation on different social issues relevant to Cambodia.  KYA strives towards an improved framework for respecting human rights, democracy, gender, health, and the empowerment of young people by the government and other stakeholders utilizing principles that encourage youth participation and recognize youth’s role and works.

KYA has been responsible for 3 programs:

–  Youth Participating in Decision-Making processes
–  Youth employment opportunities
–  Improved Social Well-being and Youth Engagement in Human Rights and Sustainable Development

To mark the European Development Days on 26 and 27 November 2013, in this time, the Delegation of the European Union to Cambodia in collaboration with the Khmer Youth Association (KYA) are launching a university students essay competition.

The theme is “The Mekong as a Force for Development in Cambodia: Challenges and Opportunities

From now until 8th November, you can participate in KYA essay contest.
